Voidlurker - Industrial Nightmare

When Industrial Nightmare roared out in January 2020, Voidlurker offered up more than four tracks of sludge/doom—they delivered an atmosphere so dense, it feels like being trapped in the concrete heartbeat of Birmingham itself. With low, slow, down-tuned guitars, fuzz that sags and vibrates, and vocals that growl like the city’s grit, this EP isn’t just heavy—it drips with dread and raw power.

Formed in 2017, the three-piece had already teased their crushing potential with a demo that included Bitchcraft & Misery, but Industrial Nightmare felt like a statement: recorded at Foel Studios with Chris Fielding of Conan, it captures Voidlurker at their darkest, loudest, most uncompromised. APF Records+1 From the gargantuan churning intro of the title track through Jeffrey Doomer and Rotten Seed to the closing Bitchcraft & Misery, every riff rumbles, every beat hits like machinery under strain.

What sets Industrial Nightmare apart is how it balances brute force with menace. The bass delivers weight you can feel, the guitar tones bubble with distortion and heat, and the vocals—gravel-gargling and fierce—seal the deal. It’s not about reinventing sludge or doom; it’s about reminding you how devastating those traditions can still be when someone commits fully.

Live, their reputation had already been building—dominating sets at blood-soaked festivals, brutal live energy—but this EP translated that ferocity into recorded form. Whether you’re listening through earphones or blasting out of speakers, Industrial Nightmare demands attention, reverberates in your bones, and lingers in the corners long after the last chord fades.
